About Us
Who We Are
The Anne Arundel County Firefighters Emerald Society, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was founded in January 2002 and incorporated in 2019. Our primary mission is to provide relief and support for sick, injured, and fallen members of the fire service and their families. We also serve as a fraternal organization for all Anne Arundel County firefighters, united by a shared respect for the Celtic heritage and traditions in the fire service. Through education, social events, and cultural celebrations, we honor those traditions while remaining open and welcoming to all who value the Brotherhood that has long defined the fire service.
Our History
In 2002, a small group of firefighters got together with an idea to start celebrating the Celtic heritage and help other firefighters and their families during sickness and injury. Since then the group donated thousands to help those in need and officially Incorporated as a nonprofit in 2019.
Our Mission
A charitable organization to support our sick and injured Brothers and Sisters of the fire service and their families during times of sickness, injury, or tragedy; to celebrate the Celtic heritage of the fire service while promoting and continuing a diverse and inclusive "Brotherhood" within the fire service
